Live fire sight-in service — range verification and zero confirmation

Live Fire Sight-In Service

Our Live Fire Sight-In Service service is performed by our licensed gunsmith at The Freedom Dispenser Company. One of our gunsmiths shoots your firearm at the appropriate distance, evaluates the group, adjusts the sights or optic, and confirms the zero with a final group. You get a firearm back with a known, verified zero.

What Does Live Fire Sight-In Service Include?

  • Firearm inspection and function check before shooting
  • Initial group fired at appropriate distance
  • Sight or optic adjustment based on group location
  • Confirmation group to verify zero
  • Documentation of zero distance and point of impact data

Why Would You Need Live Fire Sight-In Service?

A true zero requires live rounds through the barrel under real conditions. Bore sighting tools are starting points only. Customers come in for a live fire sight-in when:

  • New optic installed and needs a real zero
  • Preparing for hunting season and need a confirmed 100-yard zero
  • After a significant firearm repair that may have affected zero
  • Purchased a used rifle with unknown zero history
  • New shooter who wants a properly zeroed firearm before starting training

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ammunition included?

No. Please bring your own ammunition. Bring at least 20 rounds; 40 is better for a thorough zero.

What distances do you zero at?

Pistols and carbines are typically zeroed at 25 yards. Rifles are typically zeroed at 100 yards. We can zero to any distance you specify.

Do you offer this for suppressed firearms?

Yes. Point of impact may shift when adding or removing a suppressor, so let us know your intended use so we can zero for the appropriate configuration.
