Our Bore Sight service is performed by our licensed gunsmith at The Freedom Dispenser Company. We use a bore sighting tool appropriate to your caliber to align your sights with the bore axis, getting you to within a few inches at 25 yards so your first shots are on or very close to paper.
What Does Bore Sight Include?
- Bore sighter installed in chamber or muzzle
- Sight or optic adjusted to align with bore sighter dot
- Verification at simulated 25-yard distance
- Notes on approximate zero distance and expected deviation
Why Would You Need Bore Sight?
Bore sighting gets your sights or optic close to zero before you head to the range, saving ammunition and frustration. Customers request a bore sight when:
- New scope or red dot installed and needs a starting zero point
- Optic was removed and reinstalled and zero may have shifted
- Building a new rifle from a stripped receiver
- Transferring a scope between firearms
- Preparing for a hunting trip and want to confirm a basic starting zero

Frequently Asked Questions
Is bore sighting the same as zeroing?
No. Bore sighting is a starting point. A true zero requires live-fire confirmation and adjustment. See our Live Fire Sight-In service if you want a confirmed zero.
Do you bore sight handguns?
Yes, with the appropriate bore sighting tool for the caliber.
How accurate is bore sighting?
Typically within 2-4 inches at 25 yards. Enough to be on paper and refine from there.
