Why buy all the tools to build your upper receiver when we can do it for you? This service is not just a quick "put it together and hope for the best" deal.
First, we'll use a lapping tool on your upper receiver to make sure the mating surface with the barrel is flush. Seating a barrel on an uneven surface will negatively impact your gun's accuracy. This creates an even mating surface for pressure to be distributed from the barrel to the receiver, minimizing any movement under pressure for accurate, repeatable shots. You'd be amazed at some of the expensive pre-assembled upper receivers that needed this done.
Next, we'll use an retaining compound to make sure that barrel stays put. With any machining, especially mass production, there are small tolerances. This compound fills those tiny gaps to remove any potential play. This makes your gun more accurate by creating an even more solid connection to the receiver.
After that, we'll use a grease commonly used in the aerospace industry to thread on your barrel nut to a proper torque spec. It may seem confusing, putting grease on something you don't want to come loose, but let us explain. Greasing the barrel nut threads prevents an inaccurate torque reading from dry friction along the threads - you might think you've got it right but then when that surface gets hot and your barrel nut starts to back off you've got big problems. This also keeps the metal from the barrel nut from forming a near permanent bond with the receiver threads and makes things a world easier if you ever decide to change your barrel or handguard.
Finally, we'll pop a lower on and run 30 rounds through it as a function test. After all, who doesn't love a good mag dump! But seriously, if the gun can't run the way you need it to, what's the point of having it? Does the timer pause in a competition, or does the bad guy in your house stand still while you clear a jam? We aren't happy just sending you a pretty gun with the parts you want, it needs to work too. Naturally we'll give it a quick clean and lube after this, because that's just common courtesy!
Note: To purchase this service, simply add it to your cart with your parts. If you are missing something in your order we will contact you to make sure everything is sorted out.
